OUR PROGRAMMES
Elderly Advocacy Support Programme
Protecting older persons from neglect, abuse, discrimination, and exclusion through advocacy, guidance, mediation, and community-based support.
Every Older Person Deserves to Be Heard
Older persons deserve to live with dignity, security, respect, and freedom from abuse or discrimination.
At Zainah Elderly Initiative (ZEI), we provide practical advocacy support to older persons whose rights, safety, or wellbeing may be at risk, helping them access guidance, protection, and appropriate support.
Programme Overview
The Elderly Advocacy Support Programme supports older persons experiencing neglect, abuse, discrimination, exploitation, social exclusion, or other situations that threaten their dignity and wellbeing.
ZEI works directly with older persons, families, community leaders, service providers, and relevant institutions to identify concerns and help find appropriate solutions.
Our approach includes individual guidance, community mediation, referrals, awareness activities, and support in navigating available services and protection mechanisms.
Why This Programme Matters
Older persons can become particularly vulnerable when they depend on others for care, income, housing, healthcare, or everyday assistance.
Some may experience neglect, mistreatment, discrimination, property-related disputes, financial exploitation, or exclusion while lacking information about where to seek help.
Providing accessible community-based advocacy support helps ensure that their concerns are heard and that appropriate steps can be taken to protect their dignity, safety, and rights.
